“As a Naturopathic physician I believe in the practice of MEDICINE. I accomplish this by using naturopathic and allopathic therapies, when appropriate, for helping my patients heal and feel better quickly. I believe that all treatments can be naturopathic-based in their intent and use – by first doing no harm, and by treating the whole person.”
Dr. Jena brings to her practice a natural curiosity and a bent toward lifelong learning. As a result, she’s able to offer patients a breadth of experience and knowledge uniquely suited for tackling some of today’s most common health issues, as well as difficult-to-treat cases.
Often invited to be a guest lecturer, Dr. Jena has been an invaluable resource for the naturopathic /medical community throughout the Northwest region. She has spoken on a variety of topics including menopause, insomnia, homeopathy, and naturopathic medicine during pregnancy and labor.
Dr. Jena received four years of graduate level medical school training from Bastyr University. By earning a Naturopathic Doctorate (ND) rather than a Medical Doctorate (MD), Dr. Jena received additional training in the holistic therapy areas of homeopathy, botanical medicine, clinical nutrition, lifestyle counseling, physical medicine, and orthomolecular medicine.
Although the focus of Dr. Jena’s family practice is Naturopathic Medicine, she uses allopathic medicine, when appropriate, and Dr. Jena specializes in:
Celiac Disease and other GI Disorders
Autoimmune Disease
Infectious Disease including Lyme, EBV and other chronic infections
Food Allergies
Environmental Allergies
Chronic Fatigue
Autism
Endocrine Disorders, including Thyroid and Adrenal Dysfunction
Menopausal Symptoms
Menstrual Disorders

Dr. Jena believes patients of all backgrounds deserve to have access to quality healthcare. Motivated by this commitment, Dr. Jena worked to receive approval from the state of Washington for low-income patients to be seen at the Evergreen Center for Integrative Medicine. These efforts were recognized by Washington State, which subsequently awarded Dr. Jena with a 4-year student loan repayment scholarship. She was one of only two Naturopathic Physicians to receive this honor at the time of the award, spearheading the way for other Naturopathic Physicians to receive this award.
